heart, mind and tail animal massage, windsor, vt

My name is Max.
I am a Portuguese Water Dog.
I live on a farm with sheep, and llamas and Alpacas and.....some humans.
I enjoy them all. They are my friends.
My human mom knew and saw how my body relaxed to the touch. How I warmed to the response of the human's strong and gentle hands. I know how to relax now, because I know the feel of massage and my humans on the farm have witnessed my body relax. As the dog in the family, I do know also, the JOY of massage.

Lesley Bracker recently spent a few hours massaging our Newfoundlands, who were unable to stay awake once she started, although they awoke immediately if she stopped. Even with his heavy winter coat getting in the way, Lesley was able to massage deeply enough to relieve whatever was causing a slight limp in the rear assembly of the one we call Moose, who weighs about 140 pounds. Now all of the dogs circle Lesley, clamoring for her attention as soon as she walks into the house, seemingly eager for the next massage!

Dear Lesley,

Thank you for attending to Ping's aging and frail body. To compare how athletic and vital she once was to the way she now barely gets around, is heartbreaking. But that's all forgotten as she apparently remembers and looks forward to your loving hands soothing her aches and pains. You really are tuned in well to all the animals in your life. Thank you for including mine too.

We were thrilled and delighted when our friend and supporter Lesley approached Lucy Mackenzie asking if she could complete her Internship Program here. Shelter life is incredibly stressful for the animals in our care and I can't imagine a better time in their lives to incorporate massage. The power of the healing touch is undeniably valuable to our four-legged friends, when they feel the most alone in this world and have just experienced an immense upheaval. We witnessed the progression of positive changes in their lives, both emotionally and physically, that developed as a result of the one-on-one time Lesley spent with each of our animals using the massage techniques she learned at Bancroft School of Massage. Lesley welcomes each being (both two and four-legged!) with compassion and respect as well as the type of acceptance and patience that each of us deserves.
